This book was originally written in 1991. So much of what I have written over the years has been intense and at times, difficult. This book was different - born out of my heart, out of the love for the young lives we had a chance to serve from 1987 to 1997. Much of Stray Cats was inspired by, if not directly the result of, the intimate and life-changing moments we shared together. We called them the "JOEL kids". (Jesus Our Eternal Lord.) Letting them go was difficult and painful. Thankfully, many of them remain part of my life. After all, love and real Christian family is never "for a moment." It is eternal. For those who have lost touch, if you ever read this, know that you are, and always will be, part of me.

I decided that these stories are worth sharing over these web pages, and hopefully will have a special meaning for kids. It's just real stuff, right from the heart. I hope it blesses you.
